What is a FUDCon

FUDCon is short for Fedora Users and Developers Conference, ivent was conducted annually, was first implemented in FUDCon London 2005 – London, UK – October 6, 2005, FUDCon Karlsruhe 2005 – Karlsruhe, Germany – June 24 – 25, 2005, FUDCon Boston 2005 – Boston, MA – February 18, 2005

FUD: An acronym for Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. A typical tactic used by the opponents of open source to prevent its widespread adoption.

Con: In opposition or disagreement with; against.

FUDCon is the Fedora Users and Developers Conference, a major free software event held in various regions around the world, usually annually per region. FUDCon is a combination of sessions, talks, workshops, and hackfests in which contributors work on specific initiatives. Topics include infrastructure, feature development, community building, general management and governance, marketing, testing and QA, packaging, etc.

FUDCon is always free to attend for anyone in the world.

In 2011 FUDcon already implemented FUDCon Panama 2011 – Ciudad del Saber – May 26 – 28, 2011, FUDCon Tempe 2011 – Tempe, AZ – Jan 29 – 31, 2011
